OSHA-30 is a voluntary training program, its purpose is to promote workplace safety and health to make workers more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights. Our Technicians and Project managers received OSHA-30 safety training, mandated by the New York City department of buildings. By the end of May 2019, Mobility Elevator will have the largest group OSHA-30 certified technicians in our industry.

Having our Technicians and Project managers receive OSHA training benefits not only our company, but our employees as well; OSHA training benefits are priceless and include:

  • Promotes safety culture through peer training
  • Training uses hands-on activities
  • Trainers can tailor the training topics based on specific needs of their audience
  • Outreach training content includes hazard recognition and avoidance, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint; it emphasizes the value of safety and health to workers, including young workers

Instead of only providing the 10-hour training program, we provided the 30-hour training program to ensure that our workers have a safety responsibility with a greater depth including a variety of training. All outreach training is intended to cover an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter on a job site. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. Now that our workers are OSHA certified, they are quipped with the competent knowledge so we can,

  • Prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors
  • Prevent loss of lives and injuries
  • Avoid and reducing accidents and near misses

Sometimes our products do not come assembled (because of the limited amount of space at the site), and most of the time our clients do not have an “install ready” space. This means that we must sometimes,

  • Cut holes into floors, walls, and cornered spaces
  • Construct a whole new room for the lift/cab (home modification)
  • Sometimes we might have to work in very steep, tall, small spaces

Being OSHA certified is not mandatory, but it ensures an ease of mind for our clients knowing that we are responsible and knowledgeable in preventing any further damage to property, bystanders, and ourselves.
